Volunteers Put New Roof on Main Lodge at CKP

More than a dozen volunteers worked from August 27 to August 30, 2009 to replace the roof on the main lodge at Phyllis Wheatley's Camp Katharine Parsons.  The volunteers replaced rotted wood, repaired damage from a fallen tree limb and restored the interior ceiling and kitchen walls damaged by water. 

Lewis McDavid, an independent contractor with ties to Phyllis Wheatley and Camp Parsons, coordinated the effort which involved carpenters, roofers, drywall installers and general handymen.  The cost of project materials was donated by Tony & Shellye Williamson.  Thank you volunteers - we couldn't have done it without you!!
