OUR PROGRAMS

For nearly 100 years, Phyllis Wheatley Community Center has been a cornerstone of the North Minneapolis community. We provide services and programs to all people seeking resources and education in our majority-African American neighborhoods.

Our programming is designed to nurture the development of mind, body, spirit, family, and community, with a goal of helping people build the skills they need not just to get by, but to thrive.

To learn more about the services we provide, select any of the categories below.

Restoring balance in the lives of families through intervention, support, and trauma-informed care.

Keeping our community safe from COVID-19 and ending health disparities in our communities.

Bridging the digital divide in BIPOC communities and creating new career paths.

Providing fun experiences in the community that engage our bodies, minds, spirits, and families.

Caring for our children through quality, affordable, early childhood education opportunities.

Summer camp that exists to give African American kids living in North Minneapolis a place to find nature, to learn new skills and to get a glimpse of the world outside the inner city.
