ENRICHMENT AND COMMUNITY BUILDING

Phyllis Wheatley Community Center’s doors are open to everyone in the community to dream,
explore, and connect with one another through activities that strengthen our minds, bodies, spirits,
families, and communities. Our enrichment and community building programs are open to the public and rely heavily on volunteers like you.

Family Engagement, Activities,

and Resource Center (FEARC)

Phyllis Wheatley’s Family Engagement, Activities, and Resource Center provides holistic, wrap-around services and activities for families in and around North Minneapolis. Our FEARC coordinators works with families in our programs to connect them with other resources and opportunities to overcome collateral barriers they may be facing as they are participating in our restorative programs (link back).

Additionally, our FEARC staff are responsible for activating the spaces in and around Phyllis Wheatley Community Center, providing fun, family-friendly, and engaging activities like Juneteenth, open gyms, game nights, book clubs, senior activities and more.

To learn more about community events and activities organized by Phyllis Wheatley check out our community calendar and events page.
