MTW STAFF PROTOCOLS

Staff will:

  • Always wear masks.
  • Add gloves when receiving the children in the morning while taking temperatures as well as during pickup.
  • Accept/send children through the playground door instead of the front door. We will have one teacher at the door taking temps in the morning and one teacher during pickup giving the children to the parents.
  • Wear masks and gloves when changing diapers.
  • Have smaller class sizes per room (1:9 ratio) and smaller groups within the rooms.
  • 3-Step clean: 1) soap and water; 2) water; and 3) bleach water all toys and areas that the children play with and after the children are done playing in that area.
  • Make sure children are washing their hands for the recommended 20 seconds with soap and water. Teachers will also wash their hands in the same manner. All will wash hands after each activity in the classroom and after coming in from outside.

Weather permitting, ALL classes will go outside two (2) times a day for 30 + minutes to our playground or on a walk. We will practice using social distancing during this time as well. We cannot go to public parks.

The playground will be sprayed with bleach water or wiped with disinfectant wipes after each use. It is the intent to use an electrostatic sprayer wherever possible to reduce the time and disinfectant effectiveness.

Staff will make sure bleach bottles are made new each day. At the end of the day, the closers will spray the bleach water over everything in the rooms and dump the remaining bleach down the drain.

MTW FAMILY PROTOCOLS

  • Parents are required to wear a mask when dropping off and picking up. The new drop-off and pick-up location will be through the playground into the Preschool room. There will be a teacher at the door to take the child’s temp and then bring them to their rooms. During drop off, families will be required to maintain proper social distancing while waiting in line to drop off and pick up their children. We will have a staff member helping to assist with monitoring the social distancing.
  • Children will not be allowed in the center if they have a temperature of 100.0 or higher.
  • Children are not allowed to bring in any toys, food, or blankets from their homes. They may only bring essential items that are needed for the day. Parents are asked to bring medications and inhalers for their children who must use them.
  • If the parent or child has been around someone that has had COVID-19 within two (2) weeks, they will be required to keep their child at home for the required quarantined period of 14 days.

CDC GUIDELINES FOR CHILD CARE PROGRAMS

If someone is or becomes sick, we will do the following:

  • Plan to have an isolation room in the Early Literacy Center that can be used to isolate a sick child.
  • Be ready to follow CDC guidance on how to disinfect the facility if someone is sick.
  • If a sick child has been isolated in the facility, clean and disinfect surfaces in the isolation room or area after the sick child has gone home.

If COVID-19 is confirmed in a child or staff member, we will do the following:

  • Close off areas used by the person who is sick.
  • Open outside doors and windows to increase air circulation in the areas.
  • Wait up to 24 hours or as long as possible before cleaning or disinfecting to allow respiratory droplets to settle.
  • Clean and disinfect all areas used by the person who is sick, such as offices, bathrooms, and common areas.
  • If more than seven (7) days have passed since the person who is sick visited or used the facility, additional cleaning and disinfection is not necessary.
  • Continue routine cleaning and disinfection.
