This fall, Phyllis Wheatley invites youth ages 12-14 (young men and women!) to participate in RISE: Building Bridges Through Basketball starting October 11!

This after-school program gives youth the chance to play and learn from mentors who can help them reach their goals and stay on track for success.

Join us on a wealth-building journey September 16!

Single, BIPOC women who makes less than $30,000/year are invited to join this cohort, aimed at helping stabilize family finances and create more prosperous futures! 

You'll get a savings match of 2:1 up to $2,000; a FREE laptop upon completion of the program, and lots of helpful information and skills for brighter financial futures!

Join Phyllis Wheatley for a new series focused on restoring balance in your life through stress reduction and conflict resolution techniques led by Drake Powe, a 20-year life coach and yoga instructor working with small groups to improve their quality of life. 

After the pandemic, mental and physical health issues are more prevalent than ever. 

These sessions are designed to help you restore balance, health, and mental well-being.

Phyllis Wheatley is a Comcast Launch Pad. That means anyone who needs to access the internet can do it here! 

Thanks to our friends and partners at Comcast Media, we are able to offer this necessary services to our entire community. Just stop by and join our network.

You may also be eligible for Comcast's Digital Connectivity Program and the Internet Essentials Program which, together, give you and your family access to high-speed internet for free. The Affordable Connectivity Program was created to help ensure every school-aged kid was able to attend their classes virtually - and that assistance is still available.

If your family needs affordable internet access, or assistance with low-cost laptops, and PCs, go to internetessentials.com to sign up.

Legal Aid 

Free legal aid is available to anyone in the community, thanks to the A Reach Justice Minnesota initiative and a project of the Minnesota Legal Services Coalition. 

 

Phyllis Wheatley is home to one of hundreds of community-based legal kiosks around the state that help Minnesotans who face technology access and transportation barriers to have a healthy and safe experience interacting with civil legal aid experts, as well as the administrative and court systems in which their cases will be proceeding.

Wheatley Trailblazers

Saturdays 11:30am-12:30pm

We welcome our elder neighbors and Phyllis Wheatley Alumni to get out of the house and come over to the seniors club! Each Saturday, you can come and check out the fun, enjoy light snacks, conversation, and activities with friends and neighbors.
