Join Us for a Mississippi Summer Exploration!
This summer, Phyllis Wheatley Community Center's Camp Katharine Parsons team will take youth ages 9-12 on a 4-day exploration of the Mississippi river, stretching from Coon Rapids to downtown St. Paul. Youth will learn about the cultural, environmental, and industrial factors that have shaped the river to create what we see today. This will include a broad understanding of watersheds and modern challenges to our water resources, as well as background about the history of North Minneapolis and the impact of the loss of access to the river on the community where we live.
Sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays for two weeks. We ask you to choose the dates that best fit your schedule in the registration form below.
